College student from ABQ wins national chemistry award
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Mallory Evanoff, a senior majoring in chemistry at Carnegie Mellon University has received the College Chemistry Award presented by the Society for Analytical Chemists of Pittsburgh. This occurred at their annual awards dinner on May 15, 2017, at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh. The award includes a monetary prize and a framed certificate of accomplishment. Evanoff will be recognized through a monetary award presented to the Carnegie Mellon University Library in her honor, along with an engraved nameplate. The nameplate will be added to the plaque in the Chemistry Department listing prior SACP winners. While at Carnegie Mellon University some of her achievements/accomplishments include distinction as the Andrew Carnegie Society Scholar and Lockheed Martin Scholar. Evanoff was also a member of the Mortar Board Society, Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Society and the Beta Kappa National Honor Society. She was also a varsity diver for 4 years. Evanoff is the daughter of Javon and Robbie Evanoff and a 2013 graduate of the Albuquerque Academy.
